The Bodegas STRATVS are located at the Barranco del Obispo, near to the Timanfaya National Park. The architectural style of the Bodegas STRATVS was designed with the utmost consideration for the surrounding landscape and its status as a protected area. On the farm, located in the Barranco del Obispo (the Bishop’s Ravine), the old farmhouse has been preserved. The winery and its installations have been built underground, thus preserving the ravine’s original topography. Local materials with a low visual impact were used in its construction, such as volcanic stone, iron and wood. The Bodegas STRATVS have opted for a wine-making system in which tradition and innovation co-exist. Traditional Lanzarote wines are made with great craftsmanship using cutting-edge technology which brings out the best qualities of the grape. Covering an area of over 2,500m2, the wine-making installations benefit from the most up-to-date equipment, making superior wines with a distinctive character, while not forgetting the Lanzarote winemaking traditions. From hand-picking the grape, its cooling, the innovative use of carbon dioxide – CO2 – in special barrels, the use of nitrogen during all phases of the winemaking process – including pressing – the method of cold macerating and the micro-oxygenation to their scrupulous oenological controls make the Bodegas STRATVS one of the most technologically advanced winemakers – and one which has the utmost respect for the idiosyncrasies of Lanzarote wines.
